Compared with the disc shear, the edge milling machine improves the processing quality of the plate edge, makes the forming and welding process more stable, reduces the consumption of the plate, and improves the production safety. But the edge milling process also has inherent shortcomings. If the control is not good, it will lead to a series of forming and welding defects, such as porosity, slag inclusion, incomplete welding, collapse, welding deviation, irregular weld bead, etc. Let's talk about some problems that should be paid attention to in operation of edge milling machine.

First, the milling process is selected reasonably according to the actual production conditions. In the case of ensuring production, single edge milling process is used as far as possible, and type I groove is selected to reduce the defects of milling edge and easy to process. Choose the appropriate working width, generally choose 8-10 mm milling quantity. That is, milling working width = the narrowest actual width of original plate is -8mm.

Secondly, in specific circumstances, the edge milling machine can be adjusted flexibly to adapt to different situations. If the deviation of working width of steel plate is 1-3mm, the forming quality will not be affected; when the edge of steel plate deviates from the delivery line, it can be basically controlled. Therefore, when the steel plate cannot control the milling, it can be controlled by fine-tuning the headbox. Another case is: if the width of some steel coils is not too large, the cutting amount of blade can be reduced by adjusting the working width of the edge milling machine to ensure its service life.

The edge milling machine must be lubricated and maintained regularly to ensure the equipment is in good condition and stability. The coated blade with good wear-resistant and heat dissipation performance must be selected and replaced timely and regularly. Note: milling cutter disc pursues overall effect. If only some blades are replaced, it will cause "metal wire" defects and increase the working strength of other blades. Therefore, all the tools must be replaced. Otherwise, it could cost more.
